Since its inception, the Fund has assisted thousands of Illinoians in need, through more than 450 local agencies. Coordinating the allocation of resources to assist non-profit agencies is a major part of what we do, but the Black United Fund also initiates programs to address critical needs in African American communities. A prime example is our technical assistance and support service programs, which empowers individuals to take control of their own lives and help organizations to become more self-sufficient.
